16million Lagosians Boarded BRT In Six Months
Yet, plying the BRT from Ketu to TBS you can't move a 100meters stretch without experiencing bumps, you almost feel the bus is will fall to either side. It's much more worse a the CMS end of theBRT Lane. And I wonder, if the BRT lane, which only these Government buses ply is left unattended to for such a period, what hope then, do we have for the numerous State and inner city roads that are in such a bad shape have.
As much as I like to commened Gov. Fashola efforts in redeeming the pride of Lagos State. The pace of road rehabilitation should be doubled, given the sucess of the massive internal revenue drive being employed by he Lagos State Government.
PS: about revenue drive, yours truly thinks Gov. Fashola must have been an Igbo Man in his former life. With the different internal revenue generation formular he comes up with. The Guy is a hustler, or may be his adviser in that regard is an Igbo man.

In spite of MacCain/Palin tantrums and campaign of defamation of character towards Obama, the amiable Illinois Senator is gaining acceptance among whites, Hispanics, working class, first time voters and still rising. So I dedicate to Obama, these lines from Dr. Maya Angelou’s poem “Still I Rise”;
…You may write me down in history, with your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But, still, like dust, I’ll rise…

What Extraordinary Trait Must A Potential Husband Possess To Win Your Love And Fidelity?
However, I and a couple of guys seemed to be the dissenting voices for various reasons. In line with this, yours truly is of the opinion that there are lots of ladies out there who would give their all, to keep her martial vows and a happy home regardless of her past. Anyway, my dear discussants will not have it, but they all concluded that for a lady to be true and all that, the guy must possess an extraordinary attribute, to can command such love and fidelity. These attributes, to mention a few include; fame, massive wealth, handsome, dumb, etc.
I have since been pondering over this issue, may be my friends at the event where right or probably wrong, but to be certain I felt the need to seek your opinion. So, my question is what extraordinary attribute, must your own potential Husband possess?

Arsenal for Trophies 2008/2009 Footbal Season Prayer
Yes! Before you ask, Kc is an ardent Arsenal Football Club supporter. Anyway due to last season woes, I have decided to talk less and pray more this 2008/2009 football season. So, I thought it would be nice to share my Arsenal for Trophies Prayer, for you all, to also intercede for me.
Dear God,
Glory be to your name.
We fans of Arsenal Football Club are on our knees, this 2008/2009 football season. We ask that the feats of 1930–31, 1932–33, 1933–34, 1934–35, 1937–38, 1947–48, 1952–53, 1970–71, 1988–89, 1990–91, 1997–98, 2001–02, 2003–04 premier league seasons and the FA Cup victories of 1929–30, 1935–36, 1949–50, 1970–71, 1978–79, 1992–93, 1997–98, 2001–02, 2002–03, 2004–05 be repeated this 2008/2009 season.
Lord, we also ask thee to break our UEFA Championship jinx this 2008/2009 season. That this most elusive trophy be Emirates Stadium bound this 2008/2009 season. As we ask for these three bragging rights, please grant our best premiership rival the Carling Cup.
We pray for a fulfilling season to Flamini, Hleb, and Gilberto, but we pray more for Nasri, Ramsey, Bischoff, and Silvestre that their signing may not only be a blessing to them alone but to Arsenal FC as well.
We pray for that every member of the team should be purged of costly mistakes and blessed with opportunity to score decisive goals. We pray for Adebayor to waste fewer chances and take advantage of every half chance. That his 40 2008/2009 season goals dream may come to pass.
Lord, shield Van Persie from any injuries this season, and grant Eduardo, Rocisky speedy recovery. Let no Arsenal player fall victim of such injuries this 2008/2009 season. We thank you lord for blessing us with the likes of Fabregas, Clichy, Sagna, and especially Walcott. As these players hope to make their major indelible mark in football history, let their efforts be crowned with the Premiership, FA Cup, and UEFA Championships trophies this 2008/2009 season.
Finally Lord, bless our dear Arsene Wenger with greater wisdom; techniques and managerial skill to enable him prove his critics wrong. To maintain our home wins record and few away loses. That his youth strategy would bring these desired trophies to the Emirates stadium. Grant us this requests, as we ascribe praise to your Holy name.
Somebody say Amen!

...So He Sacked Kingibe
Recent events regarding President Yardua’s state of health had a strong connection with the sack of Kingibe. He was believed to be nursing a presidential ambition, in the face of Yardua’s declaration that he would not stand for another election should the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal nullify his election as President, which however ruled in his favor.
A similar feeling was said to have pervaded the Presidency, while President Yardua was under Doctors observation for two weeks in the Arabian Nation. Rumors emanating from the Presidency has it that while the President was recuperating in far away Saudi Arabia, our SGF Kingibe was playing god, probably feeling that the President would not recover from his ailment or rather be fit enough to continue as President. To make matters worst the Vice president, who is supposed to hold forte in the absence of the President was relegated to the background in the running of affairs (no thanks to his humility).
To confirm these rumors, newspapers reports has it that, during the decoration of the newly appointed service chiefs, President Yardua did not recognize Kingibe as the SGF during his introductory remarks before his speech at the event. Kingibe apparently unaware of his removal was seated at his normal position in the capacity as SGF beside the Vice president (haba! Presido you would have told him that his services were longer required behind closed doors rather than embarrassing your friend in front of cameras). Anyway, after a short while, to Kingibe’s amazement Alhaji Ahmed Yayale was announced as the new SGF. To rub it in Kingibe was excluded from the group photograph.
Vice president Goodluck Jonathan also showed his disgust to Kingibe when he introduced Ahmed Yayale as SGF at the beginning of the inauguration ceremony for the Niger Delta Technical Committee, which caused a stir. Kingibe was later driven away from the Presidential Villa minutes after emerging from the President’s Office.
In conclusion, I believe that President Yardua should begin to realize he is been surrounded by wolves. If his own ally could try to stab him in the back what more can he expect from the many Obasanjo’s stooges in his Government. He should begin to build his own political block of progressives, which he is, if he truly desires to achieve is seven point agenda. This move should also reflect in his proposed cabinet shake up.
Lastly, should someone kindly tell Kingibe “The Traitor” to quit the publicity stunt of claiming all is well between him and the President, Oga! The man sacked you! Spare us the sermon.

The Plot to Stall Ndudi Elumelu Committe Power Probe Report
In this regard, the investigation of the bribery allegations leveled against the committee is only a ploy to stall the presentation of the report. Firstly, why wasn't the allegation investigated before now, the committee in the cause of conducting the probe mentioned that certain personalities had approached it with money to look the other way. lastly why isn't the EFCC investigating the allegation, asking the ethics committee to investigate will only result in unnecessary delays.
In my opinion I have a deep feeling that Liyel Imoke has a role to play in this drama just like other actors. This a PDP plot to allow him re contest the election in Cross river State as the election was nullified by an Appeal court, and given the calls from various quarters for his arrest. Part of the plan is to delay the submission of the report until after the elections must have been conducted (they must be certain that Imoke will win). I have nothing against the former Governor, but I request that justice be served not just against him but everyone that decided to hold power for themselves. Please 'let there be light'

Why You Should Know Your HIV Status: My Experience
The HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in Nigeria and most part of the world seem to be on the ebb, thanks to Governments, Public and private Organizations and the most influential of all, the Media. In light of this substantial progress, there is a great need for everyone to know his or her HIV status. My reason for this request is not based on the need to heed the call of Organizations committed to contain the surge of this virus; rather, it is based on my personal experience.
Tow weeks ago, I visited a General Hospital to see a specialist regarding a lingering toe nail problem. Well, after my consultation my diagnosis was, (in lay man terms) an abnormal toe nail growth. Basically, my toe nail was growing under the flesh contrary to my assumption that it was a mere infection. Anyway, the Doctor stated that I would undergo a minor surgery to correct the abnormally and requested I do an FBC test (Full Blood Count) as prerequisite for the surgery. While I was waiting at the Lab for a nurse to take my blood for the test, I was asked by another if I would like to take an optional HIV test, and I said I wasn’t interested, but on a second thought I requested that the HIV test be conducted besides it was free and I knew I couldn’t run from taking test forever we’ll all have to do it at one point especially before marriage for we singles. Regarding the HIV test, I was invited to the Heart to Heart center, where counseling is given to patients before and post HIV test. I met one of the counselors and she did a good job in making feel less nervous about the outcome of the test. Since it was a Friday, I was asked to come on Monday for the result as it was multiple tests.
That weekend was one of my longest I couldn’t help reflecting on my indiscrete past and wished I never had to do most of them. Monday came and as God would have it my HIV status was negative. I felt so relieved like I just had a confession. I felt safe like there is one less thing to worry about and to remain so, my first port of call was the bank to withdraw from my lean savings to enable me purchase a clipper and a pedicure set. It’s quite ironic how I suddenly became cautious of HIV. After I got my result, at that point I resolved to be sincerely committed to play my part in keeping the virus at bay and also intensify my effort in helping PLWHA. Well as for the Sex part (which I bet you want to ask). Prior to my test I had already chosen abstinence till marriage not just for fear of HIV but as a result of my new found love with God.
Abstinence or sticking to one sexual partner might seem rather absurd to some, it holds a greater guarantee than condoms or any method your imaginative mind might offer. Talking about condoms, to be honest we tend to use it less often as we proclaim. I did sow a lot of wild oats and I can tell you a condom at arms length most times felt like a mile in the heat of the moment. Sometimes we more concerned of conquering the prey by skin diving than worry about infections or virus talk less of unwanted pregnancy.
Finally, just because mine turned out negative doesn’t everyone else result would be same. Well, as unfortunate as it might seem testing positive doesn’t mean the end of your life its only a slight change that can be comfortably managed. It’s better to know that you are HIV positive and learn to manage it before it develops to AIDS, and live a normal life rather than living in denial and dying in silence. Some ignorant will have you believe that there are a million and one things that can take a man’s life and AIDS is only one of them. Another will tell you it’s an invention or a blackmail to kill Sex make no mistake about it HIV/AIDS is real! Like I say its much better knowing that you’ve got one less reason to worry about death. Take an HIV test today!

Robert Mugabe Must Be Dumb!
Robert Mugabe Must Be Dumb!
I have tried to understand reasoning behind Robert Mugabe, the President of Zimbabwe, stance to continue an unpopular election, in spite of pleas from the International community to postpone the election in the face of violence that has engulfed the South African nation. All I could come up with is the fact that, a man that has ruled his country for decades has lost it. How else would one describe a sitting president decision to continue an election or rather a charade, that is only opponent has backed out from and even went on to say that the election was peaceful!, what a joke!
Personally, I have always seen Robert Mugabe as a patient of identity crisis due to the moustache he keeps and his desire to purge his country of whites and western ties, he probably sees himself as the somewhat reincarnated Adolf Hitler of
President Mugabe and his Zanu-PF party regard the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and its flag bearer Morgan Tsvangirai as puppets of the west. Several years ago Mugabe forcefully seized Lands of White farmers, to purse his Land reform Programme as other hundreds fled
Three months ago Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC party defeated Mugabe and his Zanu-PF party in the general elections, albeit without an outright majority to secure an outright win. Against this Backdrop, Mugabe and his party employed the violence and threat strategy ahead of the run off elections. Both the Military and the Zanu-PF militia men resorted to threats, killing, rape, humiliation and jailing of opposition members and their Families, based on trumped up charges. In other cases thousands of opposition supporters were forced from their homes or had their identity cards destroyed so they cannot vote. A number of rapes have also been reported, including three women who had wooden poles thrust into their vaginas. The MDC national election director, Ian Makone who had gone underground in the face of the violence, had his drivers body found after been abducted, with knives and screwdrivers stabs. His eyes were gouged out and face burned. “There is a pattern, they torture you, make you really really feel pain before you die” said Makone
In conclusion, my heart goes out to Morgan Tsvangirai for dropping out of the race, not out of cowardice or insincerity, but for the love and sympathy of the plight of his supporters and Zimbabweans at large given the violence in the land. This is an attitude that should be emulated by African leaders, political or public positions holder. They should not see elective and political offices as a do or die affair (if I should borrow the words of former President Olusegun Obasanjo of

Obama Redefining Campaign Funding in Ameriacan politics
Barack Obama faced two critical questions: where to play and how to pay. To answer both, the Democrat reversed course to become the first candidate to reject $85 million in public money for the general election.
The decision will allow the record-shattering fundraiser to raise and spend as much as he wants — and, thus, implement his strategy to expand the Electoral College playing field.
Shortly after announcing that he would rely on his vast network of private donors, Obama launched a bold new advertising campaign that signaled a desire to compete in a mix of traditional battleground states and Republican strongholds while trying to win over independents and disaffected Republicans after eight years of President Bush.
"
In its images and in its words, the 60-second commercial that opens Obama's general election campaign seeks to introduce the first-term
Obama is seeking to become the first black president and race has proved a hurdle; he reminds voters he's of mixed race with pictures of his white
The campaign chose to compete, at least for now, in 11 swing-voting states — Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — and seven others that have reliably voted for Republican presidential candidates in the past several elections — Alaska, Georgia, Indiana, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota and Virginia.
With his newfound financing freedom, Obama intends to test his theory that his appeal allows him to make Democrats competitive in states the party typically ignores, particularly in the South and Mountain West, and thereby give Democrats a better chance to rack up the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House.
It's possible that Obama doesn't expect to be competitive in all of his initial target states come the fall. He may simply be going on the air in some of them now to see whether he can move poll numbers to close any advantage the Republican candidate, John McCain, may have simply because he's a Republican. At the very least, Obama can force McCain, who will accept public funding and the spending limits that come with it, to spend money in states Republicans have long viewed as safe.
McCain, for his part, is running ads in 11 states, most of which are states where Obama also now is on the air.
Overall, Obama's decision to opt out of the Watergate-era public financing system puts him at an incredible advantage over McCain, who is lagging in fundraising.
With his announcement, the Democrat reversed an earlier stance.
In a questionnaire last year, Obama answered "yes" when asked: "If you are nominated for president in 2008 and your major opponents agree to forgo private funding in the general election campaign, will you participate in the presidential public financing system?" He added: "I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election."
Obama described the public financing system as "broken" when he announced his decision to supporters. But even watchdog groups that have advocated for Obama-backed changes in campaign law said the presidential public financing system is one feature of the law that is working properly.
"A million dollars a day doesn't look to me like chicken feed," said Michael Malbin, director of the nonpartisan Campaign Finance Institute, who said the system likely would have worked well again this year.
Malbin also said there's been no development within the financing system that could account for Obama changing his mind.
By rejecting the public money, Obama can now raise millions just as he has in the primary campaign. As of the end of April, he had amassed more than $265 million in contributions. He was expected to reveal his May fundraising in a report to the Federal Election Commission on Friday.
McCain, on the other hand, had raised only $115 million as of the end of May. Both candidates rejected public financing for the primaries, allowing them to raise and spend money until their party conventions in late summer.
On Thursday, McCain said he will accept the public money, which means he can't accept private contributions for his campaign.
Still, Obama's clear financial advantage over McCain is offset in part by the resources of the Republican National Committee, which has far more money in the bank than its Democratic Party counterpart. Both national parties can spend money on behalf of the presidential candidates.
